How to retire Bulk of Active assets in an emergency situation

Hi Experts,

Need your valuable advise on the below mentioned requirement

Requirement:-

1. We have a Requirement from the Audit Team where they have evaluated the Assets Physically at the Clients place & they have suggested to retire all the existing assets which are active assets.

Can we retire the Assets all of a sudden ?

Does it has any adverse impact in the System. Please advise

2. In the Clients Place, they have done Implementation in May-2017 & ran the depreciation till Jul-2017. After that they have not done any depreciation till date in the System.

    All of a Sudden we got suggestion from the Audit Team to retire all the Assets & Load the assets based on their Inputs.
