GL Chart of Accounts

Hi,

I would like to seek for your help / advise on how we can address the following requirements:

Company has a Branch Segment ( 3 chars)  with the following structure / hierarchy:

1.) Area1

2.) Area2

3.) Area3

4.) Branch

With this structure , we are planning to create a parent - child hierarchy.

However, there is a complexity as :

1. ) Values are duplicated

2.) Child account has more than one (1) parent

For example, below are the accounts:

Area1   Area2    Area3    Branch

D00      E00                     G00

D01      E00         

As you can see from above, Area2 E00 is a child of both parents D00 and D01. We tried to assign the child to two (2) parents on the Segment Values and it allowed. Then we posted a manual journal to E00. However, when we printed the FSG report displaying the parent accounts (D00 and D01) , the amount double posted, i.e. the amount posted to both parents D00 and D01. It should only post to one (1) parent. Is there a setup in FSG or anywhere that it should only post to one (1)  parent?
