Usage of set encryption on identified by <password> in backup scripts

Hello,

I'm currently configuring some backup shell scripts that will be used to backup non TDE and TDE (tablespace level) 11.2 and 12.1 databases.

One script for full backup, one for incremental and the last one for archivelog files backup.

I don't use RMAN compression and I will use dual-mode encryption of backups in order to be able to restore them on their source database where the wallet is available but also on other envrionments where TDE is not operational (no wallet, usage of password for decryption).

About the "set encryption on identified by <password>" clause, is it necessary to repeat it each time one of the three backup scripts is executed or running it one time in a RMAN session is enough for all other next sessions?

Howdy, Stranger!
