Customer Owned Inventory - R12.1.3

We have a requirement where we need to be able to store and ship customer owned products, We plan to create an expense sub-inventory for the purpose but we still need to ship to the customer on need basis. Any idea on how to handle the situation especially in relation to the COGS.
