EDI 856 not having PTO Kit item

We have an EDI order created for PTO Kit item.

The PTO kit item has 3 included items under it and these items are automatically added under the PTO kit at the time of order creation.

We have booked the order and successfully generated the Order Acknowledgment (EDI 855).

We then picked and shipped the order and generated the ASN file (EDI 856).

The problem that we are facing is that the ASN file doesn't have the actual PTO kit item that was ordered by the customer but has the 3 included items under it.

Is this the expected behavior?

If yes, how will the EDI customer load the ASN into their system without having the item that is ordered?
