backup restore and recovery- unable open instance after restore controlfile and datafile

platform:  Solaris 9

full version details: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.5.0 - 64bit Production

Hi,

Request assistance on my task to complete a backup and restore in Testing server. Currently in the server got 2 instance running.

1) sgbtest

2) sgbtr

New instance created:

3) sgbtest2 - for this restore task

My database production (sgbpr) - located in other server

currently backup via HP protector which is to tape backup.

So, here I need to proceed restore in testing server to test whether the backup are functionable or not. i have successfully create new instance in the testing server for this task (new instance created-sgbtest2)
