Aging 7 Buckets Report showing duplicate receipts

I am experiencing inaccurate reporting in Oracle Receivables when running the Aging 7 Buckets Report with details. There are two problems that are occurring: 1. Receipt amounts in the aging report are double what they are in Oracle (see Example 1.)  2. Receipts are duplicating and showing up twice on the aging report (see Example 2.)

The impact of this error is the totals from Aging reports are incorrect and out of balance with true AR totals.

What are potential causes of this error? How can we go about resolving this inaccurate reporting?  

Example 1 (amount doubling:)

Receipt Number:    R123

Amount:                  50.00

State:                      Cleared
