Does the Sourcing Discussion forum is send emails or worklist event items?

Hi,  I have a question with regards to "Sourcing >  Discussion Forums"  in Financials 9.2  PT 8.54.18.      Should the discussion forum send emails?    No emails are being sent out to the users when replying and otherwise.

Can someone please provide the steps to setup the discussion forum for the emails.    I read the documentation on the setting up the Discussion Forum but there were not steps to setup an email server?     Is there a system default Notification template, if so, please provide the template name.

I also did a trace (peoplecode statements, sql statements, variables)   of the online code when reply is selected and could not find any code that sends the email.
