Advanced Search Design Population

After enabling the filter option in the search screen we noted that the fields are out of order. Our initial thought was that simply enabling the required fields in a specific would make the fields appear in the enablement order, but that wasn’t the case. It appears that it follows the order from the Advanced Search Design window itself, but we are lost at where it gets the order from. It is not related to Alphabetic, Caption, Name or any other field from the looks of it.

We wanted to have, on the example bellow, the value Practice Area appear before Matter Type:
