Price Adjustment Record Deleted

We are having an issue with price adjustments and associated items.  When the sales order is created a manual price adjustment is added for the base item.  After the record is saved, it is then edited to add the associated items.  After the associated items are added, the price adjustment is deleted in the F4074 table and the base price is applied to the base item.
