Creating a 12.1 database on ODA X7-2-HA BM (12.2.1.4)

Hello Everyone -

We have an X7-2-HA running 12.2.1.4.  We have several 12cR2 database running on this, but we have a vendor specific requirement for a 12cR1 instance (I know).  I have performed the following:

  • Downloaded the 12.1 RDBMS clone patch (p23494992_12140_Linux-x86-64.zip).
  • Unzipped the file
  • Executed "odacli update-repository -f /tmp/odacli-dcs-12.2.1.4.0-180617-DB-12.1.0.2.zip"

Now the question is .. if I go into the web console, clicked on "Create Database", I have the option to select a version 12.1.0.2.18417 database.  If I select "No", on "Use Existing DB Home", will it create a new 12.1 home, or do I have to go into the "Database Home" option, and create a new 12.1 home first?
