Secondary UoM vs Conversion

Hi,

We want to be able to buy a box of items but receipt in (and all other transactions) using the primary UoM (Each).

What is the difference in doing a conversion (either generic or against individual items) between Each and box and setting secondary UoMs (box) against an item?

They seem to have very similar outcomes.
