Message Catalog Needs More Details
We often reference the Message Catalog (PeopleTools/Utilities/Administration/Message Catalog) to gather more information on errors encountered while running GPPDPRUN (Absence/Payroll Calc).
This is a request to make some of the messages more comprehensive so that the troubleshooting and researching on the user side to resolve before we end up having to submit an SR.
Example: today we received the following warning message 17005.313 No Retro Event List Record Found for Payee. Unable to locate Retro Event that corresponds to the Retro Trigger being processed for Payee.
Sometime when we log an SR, the analyst are able to provide additional information on how we can best research this and we keep the notes handy for future reference, but it would be great if there were more information and details entered on the Message Catalog pages, which could tell us there to go to get the details behind this warning. Perhaps something similar to the Elements Comments feature where most System Elements have a PS explanation paragraph of how this is expected to be used and work.
