Archiving and Purging General Ledger information

Hi,

Question related to Archiving and Purging General Ledger information. In the scenario where Journal entry is part of a posted Journal Batch, as per the requirement if only one of Journal entry needs to be purged. How does general ledger purge work functionality work? Does the purge functionality purge the journal entry from the posted batch along with purging the journal header, line etc.
