Auto Bank Reconciliation BAI file Mapping Requirements

One thing is not clear to me in the documentation.  If the Bank is sending a BAI2 flat file and JDE is set to receive BAI2, is the mapping exercise still necessary?  Seems to me that the file format would negate the requirement to map fields.
