Client having multiple Inv orgs, should all be linked to Item class security?

Client has close to 60 Inv Orgs (And Growing).

Item classes are currently assigned to Master Item Org, Iam aware that the items should be assigned to inv orgs for doing the transactions.

Question is, Is there any better way to do this? Rather than assigning each Inv org everytime? It seems to be a maintenance nightmare when we have 100s of inv orgs.

Suggestions/Ideas/solution welcome
