IP13 Siebel Gateway and Siebel App servers, can they run on different Operating systems ?

Hi Oracle,

We have an IP13 environment with 5 app servers, 1 gateway cluster , 2 web servers all on 2008 Windows VM's.

As Win 2008 is reaching it's end of life, we want to do a OS upgrade to Win 2012(which is supported by Oracle).

We would like to -

1. Build a parallel Win 2012 gateway cluster , copy over siebns.dat from 2008 cluster as per steps in doc ID 1595061.1

2. Start up the enterprise and TEST. (Gateway on 2012 and Siebel app servers on 2008 temporarily, Is this acceptable ? )

3. Once the test is successful, shut down Siebel & do a in-place Windows upgrade of each of the app servers and web servers to 2012.
