Question about recurring journal formulas

I am trying to create a recurring journal that will take a STAT amount entered in an account and multiply it by a percent and put the result in another account.  The issue I am having, I think is caused by the fact that the original account is STAT but I am not sure.  My formula is as follows:

Step          Operator          Account                                        Balance Type          Amount Type

1               Enter               Acct string for STAT Account          Actual                    YTD

2               X                        .7    

3               X                         .002

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
