Is it possible to tax Freight charges without treating as Revenue?

We are on EBS 12.2.5. We have a requirement to tax freight for Canada. We add freight on the Delivery at the time of ship confirmation. We have setup the relevant OM System Parameters. We notice that on the AR invoice Freight is represented as Line Type of Line instead of Freight. This is causing a lot of issues with our custom reports which expect the freight charges to come over to AR as Line Type of Freight. Visually too there are issues with this because the Freight is now added as a separate line for each product line on
