Can we transfer closed sales orders from one customer number to a different customer number

Hi,

As of Today, we have a very bad customer data base in our Company. The bad data quality is because of the faulty match rules all these years. So we have many cases where for example the same customer has multiple customer accounts or a new customer uses an existing customers customer number.

Now we would really like to Clean the customer data.

My question was how do we Clean the data when the same customer has different separate customer accounts? If we create a new customer account and inactivate all the previous customer accounts, is there any way we can transfer the sales orders on  these different customer numbers to the newly created customer number?
