Booking Drop Ship Sales Orders but not generating Supplier/Req PO immediately

I have a business need to Book sales orders using Drop Ship Flow (sourced from external suppliers/contract manufacturers) but not immediately generate the requisition and POs to the suppliers.  Business requirement is not to leave or allow these types of orders in Entered status.  Any ideas or suggestions that minimize any need for customization.  Thanks.
