Calculate gains and losses on asset retirement in a previous period

I want to fully retire a capitalized  asset in an previous period but in the same fiscal year. The depreciation is STL and the asset is in the middle of its life (not fully depreciated). The Calculate gains and losses program (FARET) doesn't give me the expected result. Il dont understand the calculation. The loss calculated is not what I expected. Is there a known problem with this program? I've search in the Oracle support site and didn't find the same problem with this program... We're on 11.5.10.2 version. Thank you for your help!
