Has any one created their OWN application to convert OLE objects to be HTML compatible?

we are currently Browser dependent & use IE, I have started accessing our system to move towards using other browsers and noticed that

we have quite a large number of OLE attachments that need to be converted. Since ORACLE does not provide a conversion tool/utility I was wondering if any one out there has written their own conversion utility.

I know of a third party software that is available for the conversion, however I could not justify the price for just one time use.
