Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. How to upgrade or apply a patch to the RDBMS in an Oracle Fail Safe environment?

1. Existing DB is Oracle 11g

2. Upgrade needs to be to Oracle 12cR1

3. Will be using out of place upgrade (separate ORACLE_HOME and then expdp/impdp for data migration).

4. Need to add 12c DB in Oracle Fail Safe.
