what would cause a DHCP server to offer the same IP address to multiple MAC addresses

Hi,

I've noticed the following message in the logs for our DHCP server

in.dhcpd [26999]: [ID 900049 daemon.warning] Duplicate offer of [IP address] to client:  [MAC address]

The above message appears multiple times, with the same IP address, but with different MAC addresses. The IP in question is currently assigned to one of the mentioned MAC addresses.

I've searched google, and I've searched the knowledge and community posts on MOS but I haven't found anything.

I'll continue to investigate but any help would be much appreciated

Regards,

Thomas
