Can we pass tax_separately input value in a Fast Formula as indirect result?

We have a new Comp Time Off element that can sometimes be taxable and other times not, depending on how it is triggered.  It can be triggered from a tax-separate Payout element (when staff terminate employment and we pay this out as taxable) or from a regular earnings element where this CTO pay is not taxable.

Is there a way to have just one Comp Time Off element that can get indirect results from the Payout element as taxable while at the same time it can get indirect results from the other earnings element as non-taxable?  We were wondering if we could pass the tax_separately input value from the driving element to this CTO element somehow to make taxability flexible.
