Part Number Change - Keep the same Install Base Instance

Hi All,

We have a requirement to upgrade a part number i.e give it a new part number (from ABCD to ABCD-NEW) but we want to keep the same IB instance.

Normally, if I create a WIP job for part ABCD-NEW and issue ABCD as a component (to consume it) and complete the job with ABCD-NEW....it will create a new instance since it's SN controlled at Receipt.

How can we upgrade/change part number but keep IB instance same? Thx.
