ESS W-4 Updates and Confirming the Effective Date

An employee entered a W-4 change through ESS that went into effect in the live tables (and their paycheck) before they wanted it to.  According to the latest F085303W record the Update Date (W4MUMJ) is 4/10/19.  The Date Updated (W4UPMJ) for this change is 4/15/19.  The W4UPMJ field in F085303W matches the R0855303 "Final" that ran on 4/15/19.  The employee is convinced he entered 4/28/19 as the effective date for his W-4 change.  Does anyone know how to confirm the actual Effective Date the employee entered through ESS?
