Quotation Number & Sales Order Number should be separated

Dear Experts,

Please be kind enough to acknowledge me how to cater for requirement where user need Quotation Number Sequence and Sale Order Number Sequence to be separated. In the Order Management Module normal business scenarios is that same quotation number would be converted as sales order number. Apart from that please be supportive to provide a solution for the above requirement.
