DELETE VTV from CDS

I am trying to delete a range of VTVs from the CDS using VOLPARM DELETE.  I have tried various iterations such as VOLPARM VOLSER(vvvvvv-vvvvvv) DELETE and VOLPARM DELETE VOLSER(VVVVVV-VVVVVV) and all fail with message SLS4366E;

VOLPARM VOLSER(7P0000-7P9999) DELETE           

SLS4366E INVALID ADD, DELETE, OR UPDATE SPECIFIED

I am having trouble locating an example in the documentation.  Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
