Changing inventory costing method from standard to moving average costing?

Version: R12.1.3

We have requirement to change inventory costing from standard to moving average price, instead or re-implementing around 300 inventory org we are going with custom program to update at end of the day average price for specific inventory item, is there will be any impact or need to consider other things being in standard costing with custom process implementing moving average cost?
