rmvolmgr sometimes in maintenance (dbus crash ?)

edited May 9, 2019 9:39AM in Oracle Solaris System Administration (MOSC) 3 commentsAnswered

Is it possible (and useful ?) to change the stop and start timeout parameters for the "rmvolmgr" service please ?

On my system those are set to 30 and I was thinking that I could perhaps increase those timeouts.

# svcprop -c svc:/system/filesystem/rmvolmgr:default | grep timeout

start/timeout_seconds count 30

stop/timeout_seconds count 30

The reason is that sometimes (it happens rarely, I've seen this now only twice) my Solaris 11.4 system does not boot into the desktop (gnome login panel) but instead fails with:

svc:/system/filesystem/rmvolmgr:default (removable volume manager)

State: maintenance since Tue May  7 12:53:44 2019

Reason: Restarting too quickly.

Howdy, Stranger!
