REPLACEMENT ITEM SETUP

I am using JDE 9.1 and I have setup replacement products in the cross reference (4104) with reference type 'R'. I validated the setup in the processing options for cross reference in P554210 as well as validated the UDC setup for the reference type. This scenario has been tested with the main item having stocking type ‘S’, ‘U’, & ‘O’ all with as well as without inventory. I have been successful in testing substitute items & complementary items; however, I cannot get the replacement item setup to function. The system does not replace the item or provide the user with
