PS 9.2 PT 8.56 ePerformance Manager SS View-Only documents

Hello - we have a manager who has 3 direct reports and when he goes to Manager Self Service, Performance Documents, View-Only Documents, none of his direct reports appear.  The default is today's date.  We changed it from 5/9/2019 to 5/1/2019 and then the direct reports appeared.  Any idea why these would not be there as of 5/9?  The documents ended 3/31/2019.
