Annual Pay increase in JDE World

We have removed a custom pay table application to better utilize JDE Pay Tables.  We have an annual COLA increase scheduled in Oct.    I have been reading through the documentation, but I am not exactly sure how the pay increase applied to the table will pass to the employee master.   What steps do we need to take (if any) after we apply a rate increase to the positional pay steps.  We don't typically change the Pay Grade / Step on the employee master,  we just apply a COLA increase to the table.  We think we need something to trigger a
