How to validate text using form personalization.

I have a requirement in form personalization, where I need to validate the entered text in description column.The text should  be in a format  A/B/XXXXX. I need to validate the values A and B (for example : A is PO number and B is suppiler number) in DB whether those are valid.Can we achieve this validation in form personalization.Requesting  for your suggestions to proceed with developement as I am new this form personalization.
