BWC - Display Custom Message while updating the status of Agreement

HI

We want to display a custom message while updating the status of Agreement so that the agreement cannot be closed.

Shall I handle in Workflow or there are any other way I can display the custom message?

It will be similar to the one shown below which appears on the page when there is a validation error.
