need to find out definitively how to confirm an oracle database is standard edition for audits

we have had problem in previous oracle audits which reported back that oracle databases we had licensed for standard edition  were actually using enterprise features so we were penalised; so we need a definitive method to ensure a database we have previously installed is "standard edition"  so we do not get "caught out" in future audits.

can anyone out there please tell us what queries we need to run to confirm which edition we are on:

specifically  interested in

(a) oracle 12.2.0.1.0 Linux x86 64-bit

(b)  oracle 10.2.0.3.0 on   following platform:
[oracle@4dg-nhhdc001 ~]#uname -a
SunOS 4dg-nhhdc001 5.10 Generic_150401-59 i86pc i386 i86pc
