Elastic Search for Asset Management

Has anyone deployed and used elastic search index EP_WM_SRCH_ASSETS?  What does it do?  We have deployed it and ran it and were hoping it would allow us to search by tag number in global search for Assets and Work Orders.  Is there a elastic search index that would allow us to search for asset data in the global search?
