ORA-00020 -- appropriated tuning hints required

Hello Dear Community Members,

Our consultants suggested our customer to set this parameter to 200, this would be sufficiently high to ensure a correct working of our solution.

A few weeks ago ORACLE database throw the following error :

ORA-00020: maximum number of processes (200) exceeded

==================================================

Our customer needs to understand the root cause for this error, and wants a tuning of his database with additional recommendations. He wonders why this parameter had to be adjusted.

Is there a way or procedure to follow to technically get a clear diagnostic to this parameter?

What  should be asked the customer to provide?

What should we know from the customer environment and from our solution to set the correct tuning?
