Why does a PO created from a Recurring PO Voucher Contract remain in an Approved status?

Can anyone explain when you dispatch a PO which was recreated from the recurring PO voucher contract page it doesn't go to dispatch status?  This is confusing to buyers when they are searching for PO's which are in an approved status needing to be dispatched.
