UNABLE TO DELETE INVENTORY ITEMS

Good day All,

So I am trying to delete Inventory Items. I ensured this item has no on hand balance and it has been made inactive but on using the delete group function, I get an error

Error:  Inventory transactions exist for this item (MTL_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS) when deleting an item

Please is there anything that can be done?

I actually need the item deleted and not just inactive.
