I need to execute a custom program after merchandise is received against an RMA, is there an availab

I have a business requirement to send the some data to an external system when the merchandise is received against an RMA. Is there an available seeded business even that I can subscribe and execute my custom code in there to accomplish this or will I have to write a custom code (like an event alert to achieve this).
