Does PAC (periodic average costing) change item price in Inventory too?

I read about Average and PAC in this thread:
I understand that PAC need to be run (and maintained) at the end of period before perform transfer to GL.
But, I still did not understand several things. Please help to answer it.
My question:.
1. Let say we have item code ABC with average cost $10 for transaction date 27 May 2019.
If we run the PAC (at 30 May 2019), the average cost change to $10.5. This value will transfer to GL.
But what happened with transaction date at 27 May, did the price change to $10.5 or stay at $10?
2. Does this PAC have history change? Can we see the change in item cost history?
