Moving from Discrete to Flow Manufacturing

Did any one come across a situation of implementing migration from discrete production to Batch and than repetitive manufacturing modes in Oracle EBS?

An example is a Vehicle manufacturing when the Vehicles were being manufactured in Discrete mode for some time till the model is matured. Than shift to repetitive manufacturing mode from a lean and balanced line assembly layout.

How is this transformation achieved in Oracle EBS without changing the item name,BOM etc?
