If Benefit Event Rule is modified with a new effdt, does the Benefit Program need the same or greate

In HCM 9.2 we want to modify an Event Rule to change the date rule for when the benefit becomes effective. The new effdt for the event rule will be greater than the Benefit Program effective date. Will our Event Rule be executed in the benefit program or do we need to create a new effdt Ben Program >=  rule effdt?
