Migrate 32-bit DB to 64-bit, but leave EBS on 32-bit?

I have two tiers, both running Oracle Linux 32-bit -

Oracle RDBMS : 11.2.0.4.0

Oracle EBS : 12.1.3

I'd like to upgrade the database tier to 64-bit Linux, but leave the EBS application tier as 32-bit.  Does anyone know if it is possible to have this configuration?
