JVM within the database

I am new to ODA's.  I inherited databases created using the supplied ODA templates which apparently do not install JVM in the database.  Is it okay to simply use dbca to add the JVM component to one of these databases which was created using the ODA templates?  Or, is there some oakcli command to add JVM to an existing database?
