Contract numbers are jumping

Hi All,

Our customer is facing the contract number issue. The sequence is jumping and not increment by 1. We are using R12.1.3 and setup of autonumbering is in place. Can anybody aware of this issue?

Also, what is the impact if we change the contract prefix in autonumbering setup for one operating unit.
