Fixed asset NN by Co

We have many companies in our system in 9.1 release that have fixed assets master records in those companies. The problem we have is that the system is assigning one sequence of numbers across the companies since we use next number constant. I wanted to know if the fixed asset numbers can be assigned by companies to have its own sequence by setting the next number by company for fixed assets
